I was really proud when this image won a bronze award at the 2017 NZIPP Iris awards. It had been received well on Facebook but I didn’t know if it could also do well technically.
The silky water effect and colour information is created by using a slow shutter speed and a neutral density filter. I used a Tiffen 0.9 neutral density filter on my Tamron 16-300mm lens.
The conditions were perfect. No wind. There were heaps of people out walking their dogs. I timed the shot just as the waves rolled in.
I am very happy with the result.
